Quick Access

This guide explains how to use Files to enhance project communication, organization, and accessibility in the Smart Site Plan Platform. Additionally, Layer features allow you to attach files as references.

Creating Folders

Folders can be created to organize other folders, uploaded files, and linked objects within the Files section.

  1. In the main navigation, go to the Files section and select the button labeled New.
  2. Choose the option labeled Folder, enter the desired folder name in the provided field, and select the button labeled Save.

Creating Linked Objects

Linked objects allow you to reference specific URLs as clickable items within the Files section.

  1. In the main navigation, go to the Files section and select the button labeled New.
  2. Choose the option labeled Link.
  3. Enter a Link name (displayed as a file object in the Files section) and a Web address (the URL users will visit when clicking the object) in the provided fields.
  4. Select the button labeled Save to create the linked object.
  5. Click the newly created link object in the Files section to navigate to the specified URL.

Uploading Data

You can upload various file types to the Files section, with built-in viewing support for formats such as .png, .svg, .jpg, .json, .txt, and .pdf.

  1. In the main navigation, go to the Files section and select the button labeled Upload to add files to the current directory.
  2. Uploaded files will appear in the Files section, sorted alphabetically.

Downloading Data

You can download files and folders from the Files section. Folders are downloaded as ZIP files containing their contents.

  1. In the main navigation, go to the Files section and select the button labeled Download to enter download mode.
  2. Next to the file or folder you wish to download, select the option labeled Download. Note: Linked objects cannot be downloaded.
  3. Select the button labeled Finish to exit download mode.

Renaming Files and Folders

  1. In the main navigation, go to the Files section and select the button labeled Rename to enter rename mode.
  2. Next to the file or folder you wish to rename, select the option labeled Rename and enter the new name in the provided field.
  3. Select the checkmark icon next to the field to save the new name.

Moving Files and Folders

  1. In the main navigation, go to the Files section and select the button labeled Move to enter move mode.
  2. Next to the file or folder you wish to move, select the option labeled Move.
  3. Navigate to the destination folder and select the option labeled Move Here to relocate the file or folder.
  4. Select the button labeled Finish to exit move mode.

Deleting Files and Folders

  1. In the main navigation, go to the Files section and select the button labeled Delete to enter delete mode.
  2. Next to the file or folder you wish to remove, select the option labeled Delete. Note: Multiple items can be selected. To undo, select the button labeled Cancel.
  3. After selecting the desired files or folders, select the button labeled Save to confirm the deletion.
