Quick Access
This guide provides instructions on using Basemap to enhance the visual quality of your projects in the Smart Site Plan Platform.
Getting Here
- In the Smart Site Plan interface, select the three-stack icon located at the top-left corner to open the main menu.
- From the main menu, select the option labeled Overlays.
- The Overlays panel will appear, displaying options including Basemaps.
Changing Basemap
- In the Overlays panel, locate the Basemaps section and select the plus symbol next to it to view available basemap options.
- By default, the sun icon is enabled for Esri Satellite, making the map more vibrant. Select the sun icon again to disable it, resulting in a darker map appearance.
- Choose from the dropdown menu between two basemap options: Esri Satellite or Esri Road.
Esri Satellite
Displays real-time satellite imagery without road names. This basemap is continuously updated and fetches tiles efficiently, avoiding missing tiles. However, it may appear less clear in areas with cloud coverage. This is the default basemap in Smart Site Plan.
Esri Road
Shows roads and road names without satellite imagery. This vector-based basemap maintains sharpness at all zoom levels, including fractional zooms, and allows customization to your desired level of detail. It also performs better than tiled imagery.
Opacity
- In the Overlays panel, locate the Basemaps section and select the percentage value (e.g., 100%) next to it.
- Each click on the percentage value reduces the opacity by 25% (e.g., from 100% to 75%, then 50%, and so on) until it reaches 0%, then cycles back to 100%.
- Adjust the opacity to your preferred level to control the basemap’s transparency.
Labels
- Labels are vector-based and dynamically reposition based on nearby labels, maintaining sharpness at all zoom levels, including fractional zooms. They appear above all other map elements.
